I had a physio put some pads on my hip flexors (or in the centre of that area), it attached to a hand-held device that showed how much my muscles were contracting while I practiced an exercise he showed me in order to see if I was doing it right.
Does anyone know what that device is, and if it is safe? If it is safe, I might get it myself to help me out. I would call and ask the guy, but it has been like 4 or 5 months since. If it turns out not to be safe, though that is a concern ... as I recall it was way too close to my "manly" area.
Thanksyou didn't say if it shocked if so it is a tins unit. it maker your muscles have spasms. the other kind is a ultra sound it puts heat deep in your muscles. you can't buy them with a DR.prescriptionThe device is called a biofeedback unit. It shows how much the muscle is being used. It is not harmful but extremely beneficial for someone that has suffered an injury and is trying to regain control of the ability to use that muscle. They are expensive but there are some cheaper models out there. You would have to be shown how to use it and what you are looking for when using it. Talk to your physical therapist about this.#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
