If I do a status match on Alaska now, will the status be valid until the end of 2009? Does anyone know?Nope--status matches (with any airline) are generally a one-shot deal. If you can't prove your loyalty to the new airline, they aren't all that interested in giving you any more free benefits than they already have.As a United 1K, I mailed my flight history to the Mileage Plan address on the alaskaair.com website in August 2008, and I got MVP Gold Status match good through 12/2009. I couldn't be happier, and I do plan on rewarding Alaska with a large uptick in business.
Qantas wouldn't status match at all, and AA gave me Gold. Bleh.
I am a UA 1K as well, sent my flight history (lots of PDX-BOS...) to AS in August, and got an MVP Gold match only good through 12.08 :( . I guess not all UA 1Ks are created equal...As a United 1K, I mailed my flight history to the Mileage Plan address on the alaskaair.com website in August 2008, and I got MVP Gold Status match good through 12/2009. I status matched from Delta Gold two weeks ago. I spoke to an agent today and was told my match is good through 2009.^How long did it take for the status match to go through? i faxed in my paperwork last Friday and am hoping to have it done by the end of this week since I have a flight next week.
Also, were you notified via e-mail when it happned or did you just have to log into your account to find out?
I mailed mine in, it took about 2-3 weeks, and I first noticed the status change on the website. I believe an email came out about a week later, then the card a week after that. Hope that helps. If I do a status match on Alaska now, will the status be valid until the end of 2009? Does anyone know?
Also, I am curious (as I am sure others are as well!)...what airline program are you coming from? How long did it take for the status match to go through? i faxed in my paperwork last Friday and am hoping to have it done by the end of this week since I have a flight next week.
Also, were you notified via e-mail when it happned or did you just have to log into your account to find out?Had I not gone to the website, I would still be wondering what my status is. No email, no snail mail, no fax.
However, I have been upgraded to the front on three out of three flights!!
I'll take that anyday over a gold card for my wallet.
Sounds like someone needs to update their FT profile;)Will Alaska status match for Southwest A-list, which takes 32 segments to earn?
Well, anything is worth a try.......Will Alaska status match for Southwest A-list, which takes 32 segments to earn?I did mine in October of 2004 and it was good through all of 2005. I believe that I waited until after October 1st to ensure that the status match would be good through the entire following year.If I do a status match on Alaska now, will the status be valid until the end of 2009? Does anyone know?
As others have stated, it should be valid provided you wait until 10/08. But a call to customer service would answer your question.Best to wait until October 1.I just talked to someone there. Not sure if she doesn't know what she's talking about, but she said basically to do it on January 1. They only grant status for that calendar year.My original MVPG was a status match through *A Gold LH Sen 100k.
I got it towards the end of the year thtu the next year. I requalified ever since.
Wait a few more months till the 4th quarter. :pI mailed mine in, it took about 2-3 weeks, and I first noticed the status change on the website. I believe an email came out about a week later, then the card a week after that. Hope that helps.

:cool:I did a status match with AS which will run out the end of the year. I have flown AS but not enough to get status. Will AS status match me for a second straight year? Can somebody tell me how this works? I am MVPG for the third year running using AS and partner airlines. I have a trip to ABQ next month on Delta and one to Seoul in Nov. on NW. Can I get a status match on Delta and get an upgrade for my Oct. trip and get whatever NW offers for my trip in Nov. with a status match on NW? Can I still have my miles on these trips count towards AS MVPG for this year or will they go to my Delta/NW FF accounts? As others have said send it in October and you will be fineI applied for my status match on November 1st 2007 and am MVPG through Dec. 2008. As others have said, it's best to wait at least until October, but they'll definitely match past 2008.As a United 1K, I mailed my flight history to the Mileage Plan address on the alaskaair.com website in August 2008, and I got MVP Gold Status match good through 12/2009. Qantas wouldn't status match at all, and AA gave me Gold. Bleh.I'm thinking about status matching to AS from US. For those who were matched through end of 09. What expiration date did the card from the other carrier show?
Mine currently shows valid through 2/29/09 but in July with US I hit 25,000 which qualifys me through 2/28/10. Do i need to wait till i get the card says expires in 2010 before applying?
I would like to fly next on 10/3/08 so waiting for October to apply won't work with my travel plans.#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
